Introduction to the Product Design Challenge
Welcome to our Product Design Challenge, where students dive into the exciting world of creating and marketing their own products. In this program, students will use AI to come up with unique product ideas, like designing a new hydration drink similar to Prime Hydration. Whether they have an idea already or need some inspiration, our program guides them step-by-step to bring their concepts to life. This experience is perfect for students interested in entrepreneurship and business, helping them build valuable skills for the future.
Why Product Design Matters
Designing and marketing a product is just as important as having a great idea. Product design is like creating a recipe for a delicious meal—it ensures that all the ingredients come together perfectly. By learning product design, students can turn their thoughts into real products that people want to buy. This skill helps them understand what makes a product successful and how to make it appealing to customers.

Generating Product Ideas with AI
Our program uses AI to help students brainstorm and develop unique product ideas. For example, students might decide to create a new hydration drink similar to Prime Hydration, a brand many teenagers know about. AI tools make it easier for students to explore different possibilities and refine their concepts, whether they want to design a soda, a shoe, or any other product. This technology sparks creativity and helps students think outside the box.
Creating Marketing and Branding
Once students have their product idea, they learn how to market and brand it. This includes designing logos, choosing colors, and creating a catchy name. For instance, if a student designs a new hydration drink, they’ll create the nutrition label and branding for the can, just like Prime Hydration. Students will use hex codes to pick the right colors that match their brand identity, making their product stand out in the market.

Designing and Modeling the Product
Students will dive into the actual design and modeling of their product. Using free 3D software, they can create detailed models of their hydration drink or any other product they choose. For example, they might design the shape of the soda can and visualize how their branding looks on it. This hands-on experience helps students understand the design process and brings their ideas to life in a tangible way.

Simulating Brand Deals and Business Skills
An important part of our program is teaching students how to handle business aspects like brand deals. They’ll practice reaching out to big companies, presenting their product, and negotiating deals. For example, students might pretend to pitch their hydration drink to a distributor like Costco. They’ll learn about pricing, profit margins, and packaging requirements, including how to use UPC codes. This simulation helps students gain real-world business skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Real-World Applications and Benefits
Our Product Design Challenge goes beyond just creating a product. Students will:

Bring Ideas to Life: Turn their concepts into real, shareable products like a new hydration drink.
Attract Opportunities: Use their prototypes to connect with potential partners and investors.
Understand the Business Side: Learn about finances, marketing, and distribution.

These skills prepare students for future careers in technology, business, and entrepreneurship, giving them a strong foundation to succeed in various fields.
Preparing for the Future: Turning Ideas into Reality
Understanding product design is a crucial step in building successful products. Our program ensures that every student gains the knowledge and confidence to take their ideas from the drawing board to the real world. By learning how to plan, design, and market effectively, students are well-prepared to turn their creative ideas into reality.
