Have you ever wondered how your teenager can get real work experience in tech and other high-impact industries?
There's a new way called the family co-op that might be just what you're looking for.
Many teenagers struggle to find meaningful work. Typical jobs in fast food, retail, or grocery stores might not give them the skills they need for the future. Plus, these jobs are getting harder to find because adults often fill them.
Your teen might be spending too much time on video games or social media. They could be missing out on chances to learn and grow.
But how can they gain valuable experience without giving up their school activities or needing prior skills?
The family co-op is a program where your teenager works from home on real tasks provided by tech companies. They don't need any previous experience or coding knowledge. All they need is a laptop, stable internet, and 3 to 5 hours per week.
Companies give the co-op real projects in various industries like real estate, finance, fashion, gaming, and more. Your teen gets to choose which industries interest them and works on assignments that help them learn modern tech tools.
Your teen can pick their own work hours between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. CT, any day of the week. This means they won't miss out on school, extracurricular, sports, or family/friends.
During their chosen hours, they log into a virtual office from home. They have a program manager who guides them, helps with questions, and keeps them on track.
They work on actual projects provided by companies, but in a simulated environment. This means they’re tackling real tasks similar to what professionals do, but designed for their skill level. They learn by doing, which is one of the best ways to pick up new skills.
Each project can be added to their resume and work portfolio. These are things they will be able to talk about on their college and future job applications.
Additionally, there are 57+ different modern tech tools that they will learn how to use. Tools like Zapier, Stripe, Notion, Figma, ChatGPT, Trello, Google Workspace, Google Trends, CapCut, Pabbly, Canva, Weebly, and a ton more.
